DISLOCATION

The slow death of places

This series of 8 images is the second chapter in my examination of the odd and sometimes perplexing beauty of the contemporary urban landscape.

In this set, I look at places that are neglected, abandoned, slated for demolition or repurposing.

Much like human beings. locations have a life span.  These locations are in their dying days.

Inspired by Düsseldorf School artists such as photographer Andreas Gursky and painter Gerhard Richter, I often choose to depict the perplexing aspects of the human condition and the sublime beauty of the ordinary in my work.
