DISTURBANCE

This series of 35 images depicts the odd and sometimes perplexing beauty of the contemporary urban landscape, where urban development meets the edge of sublime and untouched nature.

This is where civilized humanity disturbs, if not destructs, the natural landscape in favour of creating new living environments.

Is this progress or regression?  Is this development or decline?  I present the strange beauty of these common landscapes for the viewer to ponder.

Inspired by Düsseldorf School artists such as photographer Andreas Gursky and painter Gerhard Richter, I often choose to depict the perplexing aspects of the human condition and the sublime beauty of the ordinary in my work.
