This series of 25 images shows various points of view of beaches of northwest France.  The images were taken during the Spring of 2014, which marked the 70th anniversary of the D-Day Landings in Normandy.

The beaches depicted are loaded with historical significance, where thousands of soldiers and civilians engaged in bloody battles during the Second World War and where many lost their lives.

However, I chose not to focus on the beaches' wartime events, but rather show the mesmerizing beauty of these places, where time has cleansed the landscape of humankind's folly.

Stylistically influenced by Düsseldorf school artists such as photographer Andreas Gursky and painter Gerhard Richter, I often depict the sublime beauty of existence in my work.
